Incorporating beginner-to-advanced versions in one routine, the workout is all-inclusive. Shot outdoors at the beautiful Point Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix, Arizona, the serene surroundings perfectly complement the great routine. Kristin takes the class and viewers through a fast-paced workout, beginning with breathing instructions and stretches. It builds briskly and skillfully into more strenuous positions, working each individual section of the body, subtly enhancing flexibility and strength. Amazon.comMTV and yoga? The two concepts don’t go together as naturally as, say, Siegfried and Roy. Still, this 40-minute program (plus a brief Pilates-based routine for the abs) has more to offer than the chance to gaze at buff young bodies in leotards. Instructor Kristin McGee (who also appears on MTV Yoga, the channel's 2002 yoga program) continually emphasizes the crucial element of the breath, and the routine includes sun salutations, backbends, balances, twists, and other aspects of a well-rounded practice. But not enough time is allotted for warm-up, and the pace is very brisk; any practice that uses the downward dog pose primarily for resting is not for the faint of heart. That’s fine for the short-attention-span generation spawned by MTV, but not great when it comes to a discipline that cultivates endurance, will, patience, and introspection by way of the depth and deliberateness of the movements. It’s yoga all right, but this is definitely not recommended for the inexperienced. --Sam Graham

But in the meantime here's Volume 3. Volume three of the Jackass series contains a random, haggard selection of segments and bits that aired on our crappy little television show. Memorable moments in this half-ass collection include the recitation of the Gettysburg Address by Johnny Knoxville while a beard of leeches is applied to his ruggedly handsome face, Chris Pontius stripping down for the pleasure of five other dudes, Wee Man and Preston Lacy pulling a "poo switcheroo" with a porta-potty, Dave England digging through the trash and unearthing a tasty treat in a diaper, and a bunch of other absurd stunts, pranks and queer misbehavior from our bumbling cat and crew of idiots. Amazon.comVolume 3 is everything you want in a Jackass compilation, and more: more arrested adolescent behavior, more outrageous stunts and pranks, more "poo." Pogo-stick skateboarding, ice-block downhill skating, and backwards bull-riding are representative of the way-extreme stunts that have made Johnny Knoxville and his posse folk heroes to Generation BMX. But Jackass turns it up to 11 with its fearless forays into public performance art. In one of the more benign segments, Rick Kosick shaves his head and dons a frightful toupee, which he proceeds to drop in front of people. Funnier are the bits with Knoxville convincingly costumed as a 90-year-old man. In a more grisly segment, Knoxville and a partner subject an unsuspecting carpet cleaner to a bloody scene of escalating mayhem. And it wouldn't be Jackass without frontal assaults on the groin. Guaranteed to get the party started, this volume, at 78 minutes, has tremendous shock value. --Donald Liebenson

Nicknamed "New York" by Flavor Flav--the would-be Lothario who had a difficult time remembering the female contestants' actual first names--Pollard sticks with that sassy moniker as she plays the starring role and selects from 20 men who are vying for her attention and love. The fact that Season Two of the series premiered on VH1 in October 2007 (shortly after the release of this DVD set) proves that love has been short-lived and elusive for New York. But really--when have these dating shows ever been more about love than getting your 15 minutes of fame--or infamy? I Love New York is as trashy as the role Pollard plays. Unlike ABC's The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, which at least goes through the motions of picking suitable contenders, VH1 has stacked the deck against New York (and, let's face it, the men). Their nicknames (Token, Trendz, White Boy) are more interesting than they are. And while New York proclaims to be shocked that some of them are on the show for other reasons than to win her over, the audience isn't. Of course these wannabe actors-models-singers are hoping the series is their springboard to fame. Why would anyone want New York? Or at least the New York that Pollard presents? Besides being a high maintenance super diva with little to offer, she also comes with an equally overbearing mother (who, to her credit, is hysterical in her assessment of the men). On the plus side, it is refreshing to watch New York dismiss her suitors with vigor and little remorse. Unlike other shows where there may be tears or a polite explanation as to why a potential lover has been rejected, I Love New York is succinct. There's little room for misinterpretation when Pollard says, "Get the f--- out of my house." Oh, snap! --Jae-Ha Kim

Actor: Bryan Adams Amazon.comThere's little doubt that Bryan Adams devotees will delight in this 15-song, 55-minute offering from the raw-voiced singer-songwriter. More surprising is the likelihood that those with little interest in his work will also find much to admire here--surprising insofar as Adams, who despite a lengthy career and numerous hits is essentially a journeyman artist, adapts easily and impressively to the Unplugged format. The addition of some unusual instruments (mandolin, Irish pipes and whistles) and a string section conducted by Michael Kamen and composed of young players from Juilliard adds texture and interest to songs like "18 Til I Die" (with a fiery solo by one of the violinists) and "When You Love Someone." There are occasional missteps, and Adams's songs, while catchy, are hardly the world's most original. But by and large the singer, his band, and the supporting cast make this a very enjoyable ride. --Sam Graham
