Another train runs through France's Basque country, passing the resort town of Biarritz, a favorite surfing spot. DescriptionThis is one of the better collections of automobile advertisements of its kind. While other collections seem to focus on a particular make of car or production house, this 2-DVD set presents a wide variety of clips relating to car ads in the 1950s. Chevrolet, General Motors and the Ford Motor Company are all represented. The gem of the collection is a clip featuring a young Jimmy Stewart selling Chevrolets by emphasizing their safety. A couple of the clips don’t really seem to be selling automobiles at all – instead they are selling the idea of suburbia as the new American dream. They do belong here – since the suburb could not exist without cars and these clips put the rest of the collection in a historical context. Fans of a certain age will be amused to watch Dinah Shore sing "See The USA In Your Chevrolet."
