Here in the UK, "Voyage" has hardly been seen since the mid-70s - indeed it's been along while since any of Irwin Allen's creations have graced our screens, except every now and then in one-off themed TV evenings. I bought this volume because I remembered at least two episodes from my childhood, only to find myself experiencing total recall for almost EVERY episode! What a treat, being a kid all over again - and the transfers are super too. "The Left-Handed Man" is a particularly memorable episode. If you're thinking "mmm, should I ...?", don't - just do it!

One of Irwin Allens Best.

What's really amazing about this old favorite is how the stars David Hedison and the great Richard Basehart could keep a straight face while they delivered their lines from the often absurd scripts. It's good to enjoy it once again. The episodes are presented, for the most part exactly as they were first shown, and the video transfer is first rate.

Ready for another voyage to the bottom of the sea part 2.

This season was filmed in colour and was very very good and with the introduction of the colour it gave it more deph and made things look more scary and they even did a better job in hiding the strings on objects that need string to float. The only problem I have with these and Land Of the Giants are the double sided business and putting four on one side and two on the second side. The problem is that you could accidently either scratch or smudge on the disc and it could be ruined. So please Fox just pit them on single sided discs

So again if you like Irwin Allen then get it

I can remember Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea being my favorite show from my early teens until my mid teens. Just a few weeks back I was thinking what on earth happened to this show because I never saw any re-runs or anything--unlike some of the other popular shows. I MISSED IT!!! And I was thinking how much I missed Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea just about a week before I saw the first part of season three sitting on a shelf of a store. Well I grabbed it right away and soon found out I had a more reliable source from [...].

The episodes are exciting. Richard Basehart is an excellent Admiral--very convincing and David Hedison is an excellent captain. They are a good match and make the show very convincing. The technology is 60's so you don't get the high tech stuff you might find in Star Trek the Next Generation, but I absolutely love the opportunity to see all this stuff all over again. There are all sorts of adventures and excitement.

I would love to see a Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea the Next Generation with Patrick Stewart as Admiral and Richard Dean Anderson as Captain--something like that. Do you here me movie studios????? Get one up and rolling with all the high tech we have today and some really interesting situations. I intend to get the whole series as this was a truly great series!!!!

Childhood memories.

As a child of the 60's and 70's, I enjoyed these "neato" shows about the future. These shows made me want to hurry up and get there. Watching these old TV shows now, takes me back to a time before this ol' world was what so dang hard on a man. Now...as I watch these shows (VTTBOTS, LOTG,TT,LIS) I pine all the time for those days. Don't ya just wish things could go back to being..."neato"?
My children and I watch these old shows and laugh at the way the guys talk and at the many different ways the "special efforts" were brought about. It truly was a simpler time...all you needed was some string and imagination. Altho...if it wasn't for all this "neato" technology...then we wouldn't be enjoying our past so. Weeeeeee!
