Awful but Entertaining.

Let me start out by saying that if I were drunk, stoned, or had an IQ in the 70s I would have loved this movie. Unfortunately I was completely sober and my IQ is solidly in the triple digits. Within 5 minutes it was clear that this movie was going to be horrible. This movie was so bad I don't know where to begin trying to explain how bad it was. Should I tell you about how there are about 20 shots of John Heder eating boogers? There were times that I was so appalled by how bad the movie was I cringed and covered my face. The jokes were old, the characters ridiculous, the story stale, and the direction and pacing wretched. There were so many fart jokes, vomiting jokes, lesbian jokes, gay jokes, etc..I felt like I was watching a movie put together by 12 year olds. The number of roles filled by ESPN anchors and ex-jocks was astounding, and Sean Salisbury deserves mention for being willing to embarass himself more than anyone else in the movie, and the competition was fierce. When Rob Schneider is the best actor in a movie, you know you're not in for an Oscar winner.

so-so.

The movie could have been more family friendly minus the "potty humor". Also I thought the negative depiction of the Dominican ballplayer in the film was culturally insensitive to the Dominican people.

The Benchwarmers, written and directed by Adam Sandler, is a really good and funny movie that I saw lately. The movie is about three men that never got to play baseball on a team because they were bullied as kids. Then one day they see a bunch of kids being bullied for playing baseball and decide to make a team of there own to stand up to the bullies. This movie is filled with hilarious humor but it also has a great lesson behind it. My interpretation of the message is that everybody should be treated as equals no matter what they wear, how athletic they are, what they do, or even if they spit when they speak. I really enjoyed this movie and I am pretty sure that whoever sees it will have a hard time not laughing at least five times.

I love this movie and we have it on DVD, but I like to buy a few of my favorites to watch on the PSP. So if you like comedy, watch this...
