Great workout, great instructor.

I had been doing Kundalini Yoga for several months and a co-worker suggested I try a Rodney Yee DVD. Boy am I glad I did. The instruction is clear and consise. The movements are slow and challenging. I feel completely stretched and relaxed after completing this workout. I do this one every 3rd day. I combine this workout with Kundalini Yoga w/Raviana and Brian Kest's Power Yoga Series. Combining these workouts and a low-carb diet plan I have successfully lost more than 40 lbs. and changed the way my body looks and feels. I walk straighter and with more confidence. No more backaches, I sleep like a baby.Kundalini Yoga for Beginners & Beyond NEW! Good workout.

This is a good longer workout that I use if I'm limited on time but still want a workout that will make me sweat and be good for strength. I recommend it if some of the other power yoga DVDs are a little too fast-paced for you. This is a little easier to follow. One thing to mention, though, get ready for a lot of downward dog. Yee really likes that pose in this video and you'll be spending quite a bit of time in it.

On the fence.

I'll have to use it more to give a better review, but so far I do like it although its very challenging for a beginner like myself.

A major disappointment.

I had already tried his yoga for athletes, which is great for beginners. However looking for something more challenging, I bought this and watched only once. Its basically 45 mins of downward dog and then finishes with some more basic moves. Buy this if you want to be bored for 60 mins.

A bit too strenuous for beginners, but a good workout nonetheless.

Having watched and worked with a more basic power yoga video in the past, I was already more or less familiar with the postures and exercises in Rodney Yee's Power Yoga - Total Body Workout DVD. I really enjoyed the calming music and the spectacular scenery in which Rodney performs the workouts. It makes me feel just a little more "powerful", despite my presently somewhat flabby midsection! ;-D

I must admit, however, that I have not been able to make it through the entire set of workouts. It's just too strenuous for an office worker like me who leads a mostly sedentary life. Just 30 minutes of this video is more than enough to send sweat trickling down your brow and raise your body temperature and heart rate considerably. In fact, I usually feel exhausted but well-exercised after even 20 minutes of the basic workout - and I'm a 39-year old male who isn't in particularly terrible shape to begin with.

There are a few postures that I thought could use a bit more explanation or practice, but unfortunately, this video doesn't linger on the basics - it rolls right along from one pose to the next. I found that the pacing is easy enough to adjust to overall, once I ran through it a few times. I haven't lost weight with this DVD, but then again I think it's something you need to continue at least a few times a week, and I probably haven't given it enough attention.

Overall, as a general workout guide and a decent physical and mental diversion, I'd highly recommend this DVD, despite the more advanced nature of the postures and the no-nonsense, non-stop pacing.
